Wildermuth Sisters in Pittsburgh

BOTH my sisters visiting Pittsburgh? Yes, and it was awesome!

Hannah and Naomi arrived in Pittsburgh late Friday night on March 16. What a blessing it was to see them as it had been nearly three months since our last meeting. One of my favorite experiences is the way they greet me after a long absence. In this case, the scene included them jumping out of their car at the same time, leaving the doors open, and running towards me saying, "Joel! Joel! Joel!". Then they attack me with hugs. It's great.

We had a wonderful weekend exploring Pittsburgh though. Saturday morning we spent our time perusing the shops and vendors in the Strip District, and indulging ourselves with tasty treats of all kinds. That night we went out to eat at a Thai restaurant called the Smiling Banana Leaf (great name, right?!), drove around the city, viewed the city from the neighborhood of Fineview, and took the Duquesne Incline up to Mt. Washington to view Pittsburgh's stunning nighttime skyline.

Sunday, Hannah and Naomi came to Pittsburgh Mennonite Church with Anna and me, and afterwords ate lunch with some friends of ours who opened up their home to serve us lunch.

Saying goodbye is never fun. Fortunately for us we got to do it twice, courtesy of Hannah's car having no coolant. I was eager to help get them back on the road and much at ease knowing the car was ready for the trip back.

I'm thankful for a great weekend, and I'm thankful for the best darn sisters in the world.
