She Said Yes!

Nearly two weeks ago I experienced one of the happiest moments in my life. It was Wednesday evening April 11, 2012 and I had just got home from our weekly PULSE seminar. I walked into my bedroom to find my desk littered with papers, bed unmade, and a basket of clothes to fold. Any of you who know me would understand that this would probably make my left arm tingle.

But it didn't this time. I had something else on my mind - something that made me not care that I put away socks that were inside out, or hang up shirts that had only one instead of two buttons fastened. I already had the engagement ring tucked away in my guitar case, and it was burning a hole inside.

Anna and I went to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner, the Smiling Banana Leaf, and then to the original PULSE house where Anna lived last year during her volunteer experience. I grabbed my guitar and we went straight to the porch swing. That, of course, being the spot where we sat together last August when we started dating.

I opened the guitar case, pulled out the ring, and asked Anna Pawsey if we could spend the rest of our lives together. Through uncontrollable smiles and giggles she said, "Yes!" And I went into the house to grab my fellow PULSErs to sing along with me as I played a song for Anna.

Here's the song. It goes back with us, and will continue to be a very special tune for a long time...
